This recipe is inspired by a holiday scene in Book 3 of Ransom: Shadow of an Empire, Shards of Crystal.
The infamous Emperor Medrhos might not have been convinced to drink hot chocolate, but that was his loss!
Let me know if you try this and if you needed to make any changes, or if you think the recipe needs adjusting. Different spices might be interesting to try!
Zorrastran Hot Chocolate
(Serves 1, multiply as needed)
1 tablespoon of chocolate chips (I suggest dark or semi-sweet)
1 packed tablespoon of dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons dark cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon of ginger
1/4-1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1-1.5 cups of milk
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
Melt chocolate chips over medium heat with brown sugar. Add cocoa powder, ginger, and cinnamon, mix well, and gradually add heavy cream, stirring to eliminate lumps. Once smooth, gradually stir in milk and vanilla and heat for four minutes.
(And yes, adding whipped cream and marshmallows is always a plus in space, too!)
