Windflower Fields: Getting Back to Work
Schedules, Updates, and 200 Subscribers!
Good morning, all!
I hope that you have had a blessed Thanksgiving day!
I’m officially back from my semi-break in November, which was only a semi-break due to circumstances. Between two different colds, I ended up being more or less sick for over a month (remember my plans for taking off November so I could catch up on all that sewing and maybe I’d have lots of fashion designs to finally show you? You can guess how it went.)
So! That somewhat throws off my previous plans for December. That said, this is what I think December may look like:
December 3rd: Audio Interview with E. Enga, author of the children’s novel, The Children of the Chapel and the First Christmas.
December 5th: Chapter V of Rise of Sirius
December 10th: Chapter XII of Star of Silvaria
December 13th: Chapter VI of The Sun Kingdom: The Sword of Myn’
December 16th: Chapter XIII of Star of Silvaria
December 20th: Grace Kelly Sewing Update + Chapter VI of Rise of Sirius
(Break for Christmas!) Except, I’m considering sending you all a bonus chapter(s), or any other content you would like, so let me know if you have any requests!
December 30th: Christmas Dress post (currently expected to be a dress I sewed last December, but which I plan to modify and wear for Christmas this year.)
Mini Sewing Update:
Grace Kelly: I ended up having to partially take apart the skirt, so I’ve been resewing that and will be getting back to starting on the bodice tomorrow or Monday. My hope is to have this done for Gaudete Sunday, since I usually don’t have anything pink or rose to wear, so it would be nice to have! As for the embroidery, I plan to start with that just at the hems, so I can find out whether I’ve got enough embroidery thread, or if I’ll need to buy more to start on the rest of the pattern.
Aphrodite: While I’m not going to be able to sew this in time for Advent, as I had previously hoped, I did end up modifying the design slightly. I wasn’t sure I would be happy with the neckline, so I’ve decided to try this collar from a 1933 day dress. I like how it mirrors the shape of the center front panel on the Aphrodite.

I’ve also now paywalled In the Shadow of the Lilac, but in the gift guide above, you can find a link for a holiday discount on paid subscriptions for yourself or to gift!
Be on the lookout for a Freelance update from me! I’m working on adding my freelancer info to a page on Windflower, so if anyone is looking for a writer, beta reader, artist, voice actress/narrator, fashion/costume/character designer, or seamstress, you’ll be able to find the info!
Finally, Windflower now has over 200 subscribers! Thank you all so much! To celebrate, today I’m going to send out Chapter V of The Sun Kingdom, and this Saturday, I’ll be posting a behind-the-scenes post for In the Shadow of the Lilac, including some cut scenes, and also a bonus chapter of Star of Silvaria.

Thank you for reading! Windflower is fully supported by its audience. Please consider supporting my work. Instead of buying me a coffee, you can leave a donation which will go towards the purchase of fabric for interactive projects, where you’ll be able to vote on what historical dress or film costume I’ll recreate!
