Good morning!
This is to give you a heads-up for what you will and won’t see from Windflower in the coming months, as I’ll be spending more time off Substack on various work-related projects. To make it a bit easier and to assist with the issues I’ve had with scheduling Windflower posts, articles will no longer be scheduled. When available, there will still be the occasional interview with a Catholic author, backstage info, and any artwork posts. However, the Fashion Journey will be on hiatus, due to the time it takes to research. Sewing updates, however, will not be affected.
Article days - the 5th and 25th - will be filled in by any bonus chapters which were previously loosely scheduled for the first and last weeks of the month.
I’ve also realized that with the October serial, I won’t have enough time to finish another chapter of Sirius; so any days where I don’t end up posting In the Shadow of the Skull will be filled in by a chapter of The Sun Kingdom: The Sword of Myn’ or Star of Silvaria.
September
The remainder of September’s schedule will be:
September 28th: Rise of Sirius: Chapter IV: First to Rise
September 29th/30th: (tentative) a short post on the depiction of St. Michael from Ransom: Shards of Crystal. Why was St. Michael in it? You’ll have to read the story to find out, and I promise you won’t be disappointed (by Samantha and Medrhos’ antics, especially!)
September 30th: The Design and Fabrics for the 1934 Aphrodite
October
October’s tentative schedule will look something like this:
October 5th: “. . . And the Moon Beneath Her Feet” - A short conversion/ wholesome love story set in the midst of the Battle of Lepanto.
October 10th: Part I of In the Shadow of the Skull (posted at 5:30 pm EST)
October 15th: Chapter V of The Sun Kingdom: The Sword of Myn’
October 21st: Part II of In the Shadow of the Skull (posted at 5:30 pm EST)
October 25th: Chapter XI of Star of Silvaria
October 30th: Update on Grace Kelly (hopefully the bodice will be sewn but it will be unembroidered)
October 31st: Finale of In the Shadow of the Skull (posted at 5:30 pm EST)
November
I’m going to be taking off from Substack this month, as I have a pile-up of sewing - quite literally, a lot of mending, embroidering the Grace Kelly, sewing the Aphrodite, and then I’ve got another surprise dress to finish by the end of the year, which is a collaboration with another Substacker, inspired by one of her characters! If there’s fan-fiction, I guess this is fan-fashion?
I do expect to upload perhaps a couple chapters of Silvaria and maybe one or two of TSK, but we’ll see. Expect a post on the 5th, 15th, and 25th. I may also have an interview with a Catholic author sometime before Thanksgiving!
December:
Yay! We return with Sirius, and if we’re lucky, even more Sirius!
December 5th: Rise of Sirius: Chapter V: Incendiary
December 15th: (tentative) Rise of Sirius: Chapter VI: Flashback
December 20th: Rise of Sirius: Chapter VII: Gift (see what I’m doing there?)
December 25th: It’s Christmas! Sorry y’all, my present to you is no email for you to open, but I will be sharing a discount on paid subscriptions, if that counts! If y’all do a good job of sharing Windflower, you might even make it onto Santa’s free comp list! I might be persuaded to give you a reading present, though. . . if you ask nicely and send me your best cookie recipes.
December 30th: The last sewing update of the year (why does this sound sad?). We should also see the reveal of the fan-fashion dress! This may change though, as I think I’m going to be coordinating it with the end of the story, so I’ll let you know if the date changes.
December 31st: A recap before the new year!
Again, this is all tentative, but hopefully it’s helpful and perhaps will give you things to look forward to!
I’m also going to go back to making a quick recap at the end of Windflower Fields, now that we have sections, since those who are only subscribed to one or two may see something here that they want to read but didn’t receive. The most recent pieces are all from the Interstellar section:
Thank you all for reading!
In the Hearts of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,

Thank you for reading! Windflower is fully supported by its audience. Instead of buying me a coffee, you can leave a donation which will go towards the purchase of fabric for interactive projects, where you’ll be able to vote on what historical dress or film costume I’ll recreate! Donations also help to continue creating Windflower’s content and to support the local Latin Mass.
Please consider subscribing and sharing with your friends. Thank you, and God bless!
