Interesting background.

I am curious about the age at which school starts. Three seems a bit young, and I must confess that I don't understand why they'd want to take away the joy of childhood. But then, I'm a half-century old and recall my childhood with fondness. I started kindergarten at 5, graduated high school at 18, graduated college at 21, and started work.

Thank you, Joseph! It is a bit young by our modern standards, though children begin learning some things before they begin Kindergarten, so it probably begins slowly and builds up towards Kindergarten-level. I remember enjoying all the fun workbooks I had in earlier grades, so I expect school would be more of a fun exercise than drudgery here.
