😂 unrelated. I was thinking of the name of a character in a book I read years ago. I actually did look this up before I used it: for the company, Dannon is the Americanized version of the French “Danone”, but Dannon is an American boy’s name, a variant of the name “Danson”. So, despite connotations, and the fact that I’m sure there’s yogurt in Silvaria somewhere, Dannon’s descendants are unlikely to have had anything to do with yogurt.

I should add, I thought of the name Dannon before reading on its American usage, so Dannon is not, in fact, American, since he was of course many ages before America’s birth. In Silvaria it’s a name of Westin roots, the equivalent of Daniel, but also taken to mean ‘Lion’. Danin was an option, but it doesn’t look right, hence I opted for the more controversial spelling.
