The miraculous image of Mater Admirabilis. I’ve read that she’s an excellent role model for Catholic women, here depicted simultaneously in meditation and at her work, showing that we can find sanctity even in our busy lives.

About

Windflower is a traditional Catholic newsletter for women looking for a less academic, more human approach to topics in fashion, writing fiction, art, and the occasional random topic (because it’s one of my favorite words).

Perhaps a breath of fresh air in an otherwise gray day, I hope that Windflower will bring readers beauty, inspiration, and a greater knowledge of God’s love.

Content

Here we have Catholic fantasy and science-fantasy novels, other epic adventures in various genres, short stories, original fashion design/sewing projects, articles delving into fashion history, & interviews with current Catholic authors! There will also be occasional polls to vote on the next dress I recreate from film and history, whenever there is enough monetary support to cover the cost of fabric.

Note: for the time being, the monthly schedule shown below will be altered - fashion articles are on hiatus, so those days will be filled in by the monthly bonus chapters, when available.

The monthly schedule will look as follows, with occasional updates sent out in the newsletter, Windflower Fields:

  • 5th - a free article

  • 10th - a chapter of a novel

  • 15th - a chapter of a novel

  • 20th - a chapter of a novel

  • 25th - a free article

  • 30th - any fashion project posts

I’ll also be posting up to two extra chapters a month on some of the following themed days here on Substack: Warrior Wednesday, Thorny Thursday, Sci-Friday, and Sword and Saturday.

Paid Subscriptions

Paying subscribers will receive access to any fiction and fashion projects that have been paywalled.

Most content will be free for the first two weeks, before fiction and original fashion design are paywalled.

However, articles and the first 5 chapters of each novel, or the first 2-3 for a shorter one, will remain available indefinitely. Short stories may remain outside the paywall.

Available fiction:

Chapters 1-5 of Ransom: Cross of Secrets

Chapters 1-5 of Star of Silvaria

Chapters 1 & 2 of Wingswept: The Dragon & the Dove

Short story - Not My Will, but Thine Be Done

Chapters 1 -2 Of Rise of Sirius
